Adafruit FLORA Schematic Help
« on: September 28, 2017, 05:13:57 am »
I am trying to make use of the Adafruit FLORA OSHW schematic however there's something that I'm not sure of.

What's the point of all the grounds here?

Full schematic below, also available here: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Flora-Mainboard/blob/master/adafruit%20flora%20mainboard.pdf

The project was imported in to Altium and evidently a few things have changed. However, in the EAGLE version (see link above) some of the GND's are replaced with GNDTAP1/2/3.

Any help would be appreciated.

They are reminders to put those stitch holes for corresponding nets. They did not create a component for that leaf, so I assume it is just done manually on the board.

Basically don't pay attention to them if you don't want to repeat the board design as well.

brokensauce ... sigh.

Why can't people draw proper schematics. Look at that led under R3 : drawn sideways ... Or the crossing at R1/R2. Just swap the damn pins !
Here's a bunch of decoupling caps on the 3V3 rail : you figure out what pin you want to attach them to ...
And we'll sprinkle in some net names : you figure out what wires to what... It's a wonder tools like Kicad still support wires... i'd figure they would have omitted them since all the 'artists' making schematics in those tools seem to profer stubs of wire ( or even pins without wire) with net names slapped on them. If you ar going that route : just write the goddamn netlist by hand.

Draw things logically. Make it clean. Place caps where they need to be.

Obvious Eagle import to Altium is obvious.

Their original schematic leaves a lot to be desired as well. But yes, import corrupted stuff even further.

Well, it was stated in the original post that it was imported in to Altium.
