« on: August 05, 2016, 05:42:49 am »
Dave hast not responded (yet) as to whether he will create a OrCAD child group or not....but along those lines...would anyone be interested in a AWR - Microwave Office child group?

It might help if the thread didn't have a typo in it  :P :P Just kidding.

Not sure how popular AWR considering how expensive the licenses are... then again, a lot of people use ADS so I don't know  :-//

I felt a twinge of nostalgia seeing mention of AWR and Microwave Office. I used to work in GaAs MMIC research and development but switched to computer science around 12 years ago and my hobby electronics is rather lower frequency - but I'm glad to hear it is still around - I can remember when it first started out as a rival to Agillent's Microwave Design Suite.

Yes, I agree that AWR child group should be organized.
Similarly Keysight ADS ( and other derivatives such as Goldengate, EMPro, Genesys etc.) and Cadence/Orcad child groups will be nice.
I suppose that ADS child group will be very active and interesting.I'm saying that as a user of ADS since 2000.

Or, a simply a thread "RF , Microwave and Optical Engineering"

I've been using Genesys in its various guises since 1990 when it was changing name from Circuit Busters to Eagleware. I've still got every major version since the dark days of DOS. If there was a league table for users who have created the most Eagleware project files in the last 27 years then I'm likely to be a medal contender... So I have a lot of experience and knowledge in this respect :)

However, there is already an official Genesys forum in the link below and there have been 12 threads posted in a year and a grand total of 13 reply posts in that year. So I think a Genesys group here is likely to be fairly quiet too.
