Is it possible to have shapes be partially transparent in OrCAD PCB? Having all of these filled planes stacked on top of each other makes it difficult to see traces and features on the bottom of the board. Being able to use darker colors, wireframes, or different opacities would help.

Is this possible?

Yes, just click on the 'color dialog' tool (Ctrl+F5), then select the Display folder and adjust the Shapes Transparency slider.
