Hi All
Easy doing your earth isn't it? well not when one half your chip is linear and doesn't want tying to it's digital half or you'll get horrible distortion on it's output.How about a lesson on doing various earth techniques please.

I think Dave touched a bit on that on EEVblog #738 - Yamaha DME32 Digital Mixer Teardown @12 minutes:



I think he also goes a bit more in detail on other instances. Edit: like at 32minutes towards the end.

Also check out this video that explains Shared Return Paths specially when you have both digital and analog components:



I agree that a video by Dave explaining this would be a nice addition, maybe not a blab but a fundamental Friday kind of video.

Oh yeah, ground/earth this is a cheap whore which is working world-wide.
She is working at the same conditions no matter who you are but you have to take care of some things to get optimum performance from her.

I didn't take it apart.
I turned it on.

The only stupid question is, well, most of them...

Save a fuse...Blow an electrician.
