Colorful Little Cube Clock : Users manual ?
« on: August 28, 2011, 03:44:45 am »
No its not a teaser post  :)

I just found one of those for free today, the little cube gets powered by a small pair of LR44 batteries,
and the AAA are used only for the glowing effect.

The LR44 died and it stopped working, the ex owner of it replaced the AAA, it was just glowing with no time indication,
and he trashed it.

I did manage to program it, date time etc, but I like to find the instructions for it.

I am dieing to find out the difference of the demo mode at the glowing effect with the real operating mode.

Plus I like to have the instructions.   :)  No mater what LOL.
If any one have it, I would like a copy.  ( picture - PDF - what ever )

Well after some wild chase I found that Google recognize this clock as MoodiCare Clock.

Model no. CK-20  LCD
primary power supply DC 3V(LR 44*2)/1mA.
LED power supply DC6V(AAA*4)/120mA.
Weight 10g (Without battery)

The interesting part is that for the glowing effect you can power it up from the USB of your own computer.

And here is the Instruction manual.  :)
Its not easy to find it !! No easy at all.

Is amazing how people trash clocks and buy new ones just for not having to buy a couple of batteries.

Blame the marketing.  :)

From one point of view you are correct, this clock has a retail price in China about 3$ .

It gets sold in Europe or lets be specific..  in Greece about 5-10 Euro that is 7.20 - 14.40$
The double coin batteries it will cost 4 Euro = 5.80$  and if we add the four AAA that is another 5.80$,
we have a sum of 13$ just for batteries.

But some how I believe that in the specific case, the problem was, that the coin batteries are almost hidden in the clock.
And so the blame falls on the manufacturer, because he did not use even an cheap sticker under the clock so to inform the user about those.

Come on ...  :)

Such hostility its not justified, and this cube it is a pleasurable item to watch, and it works.
One real clock alarm with calender plus radio and large digits , cost about 80 - 120$ .
And I do have one ... ( works with Mains) .

The small kids find it interesting. ( color change = magic )  :P

And the big kids setting it up under the DELL 23" monitor.  ;D

About the manual, this clock supposed to have 5 ring tones,
but even the instructions does not say how to select them.
