I figured out a way to improve on my 3-wire nRF control circuit, getting it down to just 2 MCU pins. I tested it on an ATtiny13a, which leaves 3 of the 5 GPIO pins available.
The code is for 8-bit AVRs, and should be easy to adapt to PIC or ARM.
