Hello all,

I have an invention (I have an idea but I'm also able to explain and create diagrams on how it will work) but I need help from another engineer/physicist. I was briefly reading on how to get an invention protected if you don't have all the details ironed out and need assistance from someone else. I read that you should file a provisional patent application and then have anyone helping you sign a confidentiality agreement so they don't run off with your invention. Is there a creative commons equivalent to be protected in this situation?

Thank you all for your help.
