CMU200, a few newbie questions..
« on: August 17, 2017, 10:33:02 am »
May i introduce myself? My name is Olaf, 41, and i live in Cologne/Germany.
I just bought a CMU200 V.30, and i hope i can use it to play around in my HAM shack.

I bought the V30, because i want to have the 50W power input stage. Unfortunatly this unit has a sticker on the RF1, that tells me: 2W max.
Is that because of the B99 option, that is built in? Can i change it back to 50W (i.e. by removing this option ?)?

Maybe someone can help me with that problem.

Another issue: On the main screen a message is blinking every 10 sec. that shows: Reference frequency not locked.
Does that mean that there is a problem?

Best regards, Olaf

There are others who may know more detail but I believe there are mechanical differences between the 2W and 50W versions, there is a heatsink and fan on the 50W version that's not on the 2W version so it's not as simple as just removing B99.

Reference frequency unlocked, I would suggest checking your machine has internal reference selected and that the reference oscillator board is seated correctly.

Service manuals are easily available via google but if you have problems finding them just ask.
