DS2072 no display single shot hi-res mode until time/div moved

So I do a single shot capture at 500mS / div, auto mem depth, normal mode and the expected trace appears. No problem. However if I do the same in hi-res mode the screen remains blank *until* I rotate the time/div knob back and forth one or more positions. Then the trace appears, and less fuzzy than normal mode, as you would expect.

Is there something wrong? Scope has latest firmware.

I just tried to reproduce on mine and I do get a trace in hi res mode (after expected memory fill delay) but it is fuzzy like in normal mode until I jog the time base knob.  It then turns into a bright hi res mode trace.
I have the latest firmware (3.05.03.03) also.
