Rigol DS2072 - screen persistence ~4 sec on 20 sec range.

As the title says, only about 4 seconds persistence when the setting is 20 sec. Actual persistence is shorter on the lower ranges but i didn't check the actual values. Mem depth is set to 14K. Scope has latest firmware and runs fine otherwise. Does anyone else have the same problem?

My source (unfortunately  ;) ) doesn't "feature" as much jitter as yours (tried with a delay of 20ms) but I found the same discrepancy between set and actual persitance. So I guess I can confirm your findings on an MSO2072-S ("improved" to 300MHz). Seems to be a bug in the DS2000 F/W. But at least for my applications, that's not a serious one...  :).

Apparently it is a common problem for persistence on DSOs to have little to nothing to do with time.  They all seem to base persistence on the number of triggers with the time calibration applying only when the holdoff time (time between triggers whether you have a holdoff control or not) is low in comparison.
