Looking at the first video, I wonder if the machine or the paste printing makes the placement of the discretes as bad as it is. See attached images (stills at 1:00 and 3:08), the resistors and capacitors are partially shifted, aprtially rotated. Sure, the soldering process will compensate this, but it does not look overly convincing.
Your solution to place the huge (208 pins?) TQFP is neat, but essentially a hack. Would the HP variant be able to place it without extra tooling?

Max this job runs at high speed without alignment so you receive sometimes misplaced components. You have two options to improve lower speed or use vision alignment! But this light misplaced parts will align on reflow process.

We plan a camera upgrade to do 30x30mm parts in the near future.

OK, so you did the small parts w/o vision, sacrificing precision for speed. Understood.
And the large TQFP is (currently) simply too large for the camera. Also understood.

Michael,

What is the current maximum size of the components that can be picked and position corrected with the current camera?
The upgrade to 30mmx30mm will definitely good for modules.

Is there any plan to get these machine at least CE certified like what Neoden and Charmhigh is doing?
Some countries won't allow these to come in without them.

Don't you guys want to extend the feeder portion to be able to hold reels like a regular TM24x machine? I think it's such a minimal modification needed that you guys have overlook.
Having them placed on the floor in a bin OR using your expensive extrusion solution is very unprofessional in my opinion.

I'm referring to other than this extrusion based reel cart which I think is expensive. So, there's no plan to have it built-in on the machine itself?

We can't the shipping size is already very big so we can't add to the machine body but the single reel carts we build do the job very good.
And don't forget there will be a lot of reels on each side and some customers use big reels too.

Michael,

What is the operator dipping the TQFP into before loading onto the Aluminium carrier?

You can always make it into a detachable part consist of basically 3 parts (2 side panel and a rod(s) in the middle).
The 2 side panel can be attached to the existing feeder. These will cost at most few tens of USD only.
If Neoden can cramp that metal stand for Neoden4 into a way much smaller volume, I think it can be done.
Think Ikea!

Good but very expensive solution that adds cost by shipping heavy extrusion part.

The Neoden stand is a too light! I read machine is shaking when running and some user like to increase the mass to receive a reliable stand.

This is exactly what I was saying a while ago, it looks as the perfect candidate for some :)

I did a new VP-2800HP spindle machine gallery on our website showing 3 side feeders and new high performance winder for the big machines.

Please look at:
http://www.smallsmt.biz/desktop-pnp/

The machine can place down to 0201 and 0.35 pitch components. If you need to increase precision it's possible to use a higher precision spindle too.
Our current spindle has a max error of 0.05mm over 300mm way.
We use linear guides and ball screw spindles from HIWIN.

Best regards
Michael

Michael, do you have a picture that shows the down facing camera? I haven't seen one in the gallery.

I have no picture because it's a module placed under the head behind the placement heads.
If you need we do a photo. But this week i am in Taiwan and can't do for you.

Thanks for the precisions. Just post one at some point when you have the time, I'm curious.

We released a new software today including package database and improved nozzle changer handling.
The software is able to place the parts sorting by height >> small parts first.
Package database editor allows multiple changes to feeder settings using the same package.
You can group by different package names.
You have only to manage vision settings based on package so less work to do!

If you want to buy the machine several thousand dollars cheaper,  get a chinese buying agent ( theres thousands of them  ) to buy it for you in china, and ship it out to you.

I thought the whole time someone is missing  here |O
Andrew Frazer is back!

We are the distributor for yushengtech machines outside China and Andrew if you like try to buy on Taobao.
I forgot we use better quality components for servo and winder motors.
And why did I stay in China the past weeks do you think SMALLSMT and YUSHENG didn't work as partners?

I have used taobao agents but for high value item I would be very concerned about money transfers, fees, reliable shipping/handling, export rules, etc.
