As an Electrical Engineer for Power Systems at Oculus you will develop new wearable power systems for Virtual Reality. You will work closely with product design, electrical and firmware engineers on exploration and definition of advanced virtual reality systems. You will own power circuitry and battery system design from prototype to production. You should have deep experience in consumer electronics development and battery technology along with a passion for exploration and experimentation.
Responsibilities
Ownership of design and implementation of power, battery and charging systems for Oculus products
Define portable power system architecture, simulation, specifications, select components and vendors, design and test circuits, firmware interfaces for portable power systems
PCB schematic and layout design for Oculus prototypes and products
Electrical characterization, validation and test for power systems
Lead technology exploration and prototyping of new portable power and charging technology
Collaborate with system electrical, firmware, mechanical engineers and industrial designers
Minimum Qualification
5+ years of experience in battery system design for consumer electronics
BS or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience in battery system design, validation and factory test
Experience with free form polymer battery design a plus
Experience in Portable product power system design, battery management
Experience with firmware and test software development
Familiarity with Lithium battery chemistry, packaging and thermal considerations
Schematic and board design using Altium or equivalent
Experience with board bringup, debug, validation
Experience with all types of electronic test equipment
In depth understanding of certification requirements for battery systems
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 15%)
