It sounds like an interesting role but it's not for me, as it's a long way to travel from Bedford and it would be a pay cut.

What about future career progression, when the candidate has been there for a couple of years and no longer is junior: what will the salary be? will there be any support for further study?

Well, this year I am doing the 5 Day Dulos VHDL course (And could have made it to the Linux Audio developers meeting on company money if things had worked out just slightly differently), and our new high level software guy is doing a Linux device drivers course in October, so there is some training budget to be had.

This is a new grad sort of job however (Hence the pay scale), but we are also sort of looking for an experienced FPGA person, ideally with a broadcast background (On a VERY different pay scale) so if that sounds like you please get in touch.

As far as career progression goes, we are a small company and fairly flat in terms of structure so while we would file the 'junior' off after a year or so, and pay would of course rise with experience, the whole formal promotions thing is a bit tricky when there is only really one or two levels of management between you and the CEO.

Regards, Dan.
