Drag a group of components + wires
« on: September 16, 2015, 04:07:59 am »
Can you DRAG a group of components and wires, and have it still be connected to whatever net it's supposed to be connected?

It doesn't seem to work, and instead KiCad just moves the whole group, breaking the connection.

Late to reply here, you might have already discovered this:

1) using the left mouse, draw a box around the group and let go of the mouse key
2) it will start moving the components DISCONNECTED

3a) hit the TAB key on your keyboard, it will keep the wire CONNECTED now

or

3b) right click and get the context menu, choose Drag Block

TAB is the hotkey for Drag Block when in Block Select mode.

It also doesn't make any attempt to keep your dragged wires looking nice :)

I know, same with Eagle. But it's important it keeps the net connection.
