Are there any interests in this? It's sad there's lack of common code.

Common code is not a good thing. Sure it saves time but it is better to have the two camps trying different approaches. The shame is what it does to our user base. What we do need and what I was hoping would come from EDAcore was a common interchange format or common file format library.
