Title: My KiCad footprint libraries on GitHub
Post by: StefanHamminga on December 01, 2014, 07:46:20 pm
For anyone interested, I've been publishing my KiCad libraries to GitHub. They are not meant to replace default libraries, rather to provide some alternative options. For instance density levels for capacitors and resistors.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, critique, etc!

Thanks you.

Still waiting for an official Kicad binary for Mac OSX ;-)

There are a couple of devs and volunteer testers working on that right now.

Ooh! These are nicer than the ones I've been using. I made my own schematic library (full replacement, not addition); perhaps I'll finally get around to posting that to GH and will integrate it with this. :-+ :-+

I'll probably fork them and then modify both libraries to match - add footprints for things in my schematic library, and add symbols for things in your footprint library.

Thanks for the nice messages!

c4757p: I'm planning to publish my schematic library too, but at a later date, I need to go through it first, remove some double entries, etc.

About the OSX builds... I run both Windows and Linux brz latest from source, which works pretty well for me. A recompile on Windows (on a lowly Surface Pro 3) takes about 10-30 minutes.

Isn't that nice, look what I came across:

A very recent OSX build!

Thanks ! It's a really pretty footprint, especially those _A, _B, _C variants :)
