Countersunk holes on PCB
« on: March 03, 2018, 08:06:22 pm »
Hi all,

I'm making an enclosure cover from FR4 with black soldermask, and it would be great if I could mount it using countersunk screws.

Does anybody know a PCB manufacturer that can make a PCB with ~2.6mm countersunk holes? (for M2.3 screws)
Preferably in Shenzhen.

Dino.

Zenkvane rupe nisu problem.

Hvala na ponudi, treba mi veca kolicina, ENIG + mat crn soldermask, i osetljiv sam na cenu, pretpostavljam da ti to nije interesantno.

Eurocircuits can do this.

So far I found PCBWay in Shenzhen, if you insert countersunk holes, price is raised by more than two times at >100pcs.
My guess is that Eurocircuits is similar.

Manufacturing seeks places with cheap labor cost and weak currency.

Soon enough China will price itself out of the game  and some other country ( Vietnam for example ) will be the new what ever.

If the cost increase is too great from the board shop, you could extend out the solder mask a little more & countersink the 2 holes yourself on the drill press. Once you set the drill press stop, it would take you less than 20 seconds tops. A black screw head would be nice :)

I don't think that price increase would scale as much, however Eurocircuits is many times more expensive to begin with.
