Did I find the cheapest PCB manufacturer?
« on: April 06, 2016, 08:07:53 am »
Hi everyone,
I want to start off by saying I don't want to say where I got the PCBs because I don't want people to think this is spam.
So it was my first time getting PCBs manufactured, I found a chinese manufacturer, they charged $7 USD for 10 boards 10*10cm FR4 1.6mm with 1oz copper, white silkscreen one side and green solder mask, HASL with lead.

Is this a good deal?
Should I be sharing where I bought them or not?

Here are some pictures, for the price, I am really surprised :)

The price for those PCBs is certainly low, but I guess the challenge comes with 6-mil high density PCBs. Maybe the quality will not be so good...

I would be curious to know which manufacturer it is, maybe in their website we can find additional photos and specs.  :-+

If it's PCBway and they gave you a discount to post about it then don't bother, we already know.

There's a price comparison site for PCB manufacturing called PCBShopper.com. You enter your board's specs and it shows you prices and delivery times from up to 27 different manufacturers, including the best known companies in Asia, North America and Europe. You can use it to determine if you got a good deal.

Full disclosure: I run the site.

Nice tool Bob, seems to cover the cheap board houses well.  I'll have to try it out on my next design.

pleae share it and so we can compare the price,i will have a new design soon

It's not possible to say "company X is the cheapest". Every company has different price structures, so the company that offers the cheapest small green board, for example, will not offer the cheapest large blue board.

This is why I created the price-comparison site PCBShopper.com. Every time you have a new design, you need new price quotes to find the cheapest manufacturer. PCBShopper makes it quick and easy to get prices from 27 different manufacturers. The prices are specifically for your design, and they're up-to-date.

I have one question, whether cheap price means bad quality?

No, I don't think it does - with a caveat. If you're designing extremely high frequency circuits, 10 layers, very thin traces, etc. then you should probably not be shopping by price. But if you're a hobbyist (like I am) or even a pro who's not pushing the limits of electronic signals, then even a low cost manufacturer will make boards that meet your needs.

Are you going to tell us where you got them from then?  Or was it PCBWay?

That price is incredible.
I assume it is some sort of "loss leader" type promotion to gain customers.
If it is a typical price please let us know!

Just compare your product cost with others including pcbway, pcbshoppers, pcbcart, and other Chinese manufacturer. You will get to know, it is good deal or not.

Just to clarify, PCBShopper.com is not a manufacturer - it's a price-comparison site for PCB manufacturing. Its price comparison calculator includes PCBWay, PCBCART, EasyEDA, and two dozen other manufacturers in Asia, North America, and Europe.

This thread has no meaning without the name of the PCB manufacturer.

That guy registered today, then posted 6 AD posts for the same company, seeedstudio, 2 being deleted.

I have just started reading from new to old "not read" posts. Sorry.
