Does that site actually work (yet)? I can't seem to get beyond the "error in inputs" message, whichever wire of plug I try to add to my assembly.

I have made a simple 4wire bundle without a problem?  But didn't test if I can order.

I made a simple 6-pin IDC 20cm. cable.  It costs $1.72, but the minimum quantity is 100.  Oops!

That IDC cable quite expensive, isnt it? I have tried some AWG30 with a 1,25mm pitch connectors (seemed like the molex picoblade ones)  and the cost was very reasonable.

This will be brilliant if it works.  I'll be placing an order soon.

One thing I notices is it doesn't check cable compatibility - it let me spec a 16AWG cable into a 1mm pitch connector, which wouldn't end well.

Wishlist:
Twisted pairs, triples
Basket-weave sleeving & heatshrink over the ends
D Types/Molex KK/Custom Connectors

Prices seem good, though. Would it just be cheaper for them to ship me a chinese kid to be my lab technican  :palm:?

There's a few things to be desired, without a doubt.

BUT - if DirtyPCBs has all the proper tooling, then this is a no brainer.  There's just no better solution than a vendor with the right equipment on hand.  I will try to place my order by tonight for some JST XH series and see how that works out.  My biggest worry is that the prices I see are too good to be true.

DirtyPCBs aren't making them themselves, they order them from existing custom cable manufacturers. Just like the PCB pooling service.

I suspected as much, but that's fine.  My stuff has lots of cables, so if this gets them done affordably, amen.
