Multilayer PCB fabrication equipment supplier
« on: January 24, 2018, 06:09:18 am »
Good day

I am happy to start my first post in this forum which i used to visit all the time as a guest. I am working in a small PCB design company and looking for starting a new manufacturing facility to make PCB.

Required to have a facility that is capable of producing PCB's (25 to 30) layers.

I have found couple of PCB production equipment manufacturers but looking for ones suggested by experts of this website.

Note that we are working on high end PCB designs based on military and space standards.

Regards,
Ahmed

Hello Ahmed,

Do you have a budget allocated to this task?

The equipment is not simple and it is not cheap.

There is a budget allocated by the higher management which is willing to go for IPC standard class 3 boards. My role for now is just to present a feasibility study based on equipment I suggest.

Thanks for your response
Ahmed

Ahmed i would recomend you look at international equipment exhibitions,
Nepconevery yhear in Anaheim in California
Produhere are other exhibitions You could attend to meet equipment manufacturers.

I would like to give you some brand names and You can invetigte their offering.

Laufer , Burkle multilayer presses( Laufer i think are a superior process.

Plutiech, Excellon, Klingelnberg drilling routing machines ( Klingelnberg are probably the better choice)

Resco, Schmid... wet process equipment,,etchers developers washing and scrubbing machines Resco offer a broad range but i think Shcmid are a better process  machine

Multiline multilayerregisstration and tooling plate system.

OCR UV exposure machines

Yous hould also look into direct laser maging equipment ( no need for film photo tools) There is a German manufacturer who supply direct laser imaging technology a great solution for less than volume production setup.

Do You know how many square meters of PCB laminate you will be processing during a year?

You will also have to establish chemocal processes:  tin plating, gold plating and copper plating along with hole wall activation process.

There are a number of chemical suppliers. Check out German com[any Atotech who offer paladium hole wall activation process along with copper plating  process.

You will need additional mechanoical processes such as edge polishing machines Radol comes to mind.

I hope this helps You on your way. The above information is about ten years old, some of those names may now be defunct.

Good luck.

I think there might be a lost in translation issue..  I think the OP might be lookign for a PCB Fab.

I know this rather short a notice but go to IPC expo in San Diego for a complete solution to your requirement.

<dream>I wonder if one day we will be able to 3d print PCB's with enough resolution for fine pitch parts, multilayer, and with traces that behave like copper</dream>

and  for about $300

About thirty years ago, during one of NEPCON exhibitions I came across a rapid prototyping system capable of sustaining a multi layer level of complexity.

It was an unusual hybrid approach to prototyping.
Relied on a milled PCB which would then support soldering process and carry polymer extruded conductors and insulating layers 3D printed on top of the PCB.

It looked very promising.

The following year any reference to the process disappeared from the media.

Nothing since then.
