On a hobby Rx I've torn down, the male terminal strips aren't the standard 2.54mm x 2.54mm pitch square post terminals, but by my measurement are 2.54mm pitch in the X direction, and in the long Y direction, 2.8mm pitch. I have never seen this before, and please trust me when I say it isn't 2.54mm x 2.54mm.

I cannot seem to find such an oddball pitch to buy, but I know they are mass produced, so if anyone can help me find this oddball matching female header I would be greatly appreciated! SMT is preferred, but through-hole is okay if it has a pick and place ordering option.

The Rx is a Tactic brand receiver. I've torn down a slew of them along with different models, they all use this weird spacing.

Looks very much like 3 x 2.54 standard headers - seven times over in the Y direction - i.e. you have 7 separate connectors. I would guess that the extra 0.26mm is a tolerance allowance to enable easy connection to 3-pin cable tails.

I don't know, but you should be able to use a bunch of 1x3 female through-holes as an alternative. Shouldn't be too annoying if you're machine-placing them.

It is one single terminal, not three seperate ones.

Can you link me to an Pick and place compatible through hole 1x3 female headers? Samtec doesn't seem to have them with the Pick and place pad option. Thanks! :D

I suspect the enlarged spacing is the more easily allow individual servo connectors?

GCT offer single row 0.1" headers & sockets packaged as tape & reel with caps.

Not sure if the T&R version is a standard stock item in 3pos, nor if you could actally place them that close together without the caps interfering.
Same issue with SMT version - they're likely to bump into each other during placement if done as 7 individual 1x3 headers/sockets.

If you have sufficient volume requirements they may be able to do this 3x7 arrangement as a custom TH item...

What about a manufacturer that uses Kapton film as the pick and place 'cap' for 7 individual 1x3 sockets? This stuff is hard for me to find.
