New QiHe TVM925 Pick and Place

(1/4) > >>

CognitiveDev:
Hello,

I've been looking at purchasing a pick and place in the $10K range, and pretty much narrowed it down to the QiHe TVM920 or the Charmhigh CHMT560P4 after reading all the relevant threads on this forum (Thanks everyone!). However, while I was talking with the manufacturers last night, QiHe steered me toward the new TVM925, which they quoted at $6800usd.

This machine is replacing the TVM920, but has only 44 feeders. It has 6 total cameras, which I assume are for speeding up viewing /adjusting parts on all 4 heads. The max pcb size is 350mmx310mm. I'm not sure what the 6th camera is for- I see 4x upward facing for nozzles, 1x downfacing for pcb alignment, but it isn't clear what the other high resolution camera is used for.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I was really looking for a higher feeder count machine, and am therefore leaning toward the CHMT560P4, with 60 feeders, but the only think that turns me off is the built in screen. Though it is $1k less than the TVM925, so that is nice as well.

A little about our usage- we are looking to use this for prototypes in various quantities from 3 to 300. Our main BOM has 72 total parts on it, 66 of which come in 8mm tapes. Is it feasable to run several panels with one load, change the feeders, then run another session for the remainder of parts?

Thanks for your help,
Neill

I've seen one other 6-cam machine and the 6th is a larger field of view for large packages - QFP etc.
It used analogue HD cameras and presumably a capture card aimed at CCTV type applications, so not super high-res, hence needing different FOVs for larger parts.
The Chinese don't seem to have figured out that you can image larger parts in multiple passes, though the extra cam probably doesn't cost much more and should be faster. Can't see it on the 925 ad above, but I'd expect it to be at the back where trays would presumably go

This is Kim from Qihe.
The TVM925 feeder’s count is 39 now because of the adjustment of the structure of the fuselage.
To make the fuselage more compact and save space.
It is convenient to transportation and handling.
But Our TVM925 can customize , like add feeder quantity .
About the high resolution camera is used for mounting IC components.

could you please upload the video to YouTube. I cannot watch it on your web site, just a lot of chinese signs on a black background

And a question:
you claim for the TVM925 that it is usable for 0402. Is that really true ?
For the TVM802 you also specify 0402, but the 802 cannot handle 0402.
How can we trust that the TVM925 can do that?

Sir,we have uploaded the video. You can watch it in this link:https://www.youtube.com/user/haowangjiao.
And when did you buy the TVM802?Our old model TVM802 can hardly handle 0402,but we did a lot of improvements and upgrades, and now our new model of TVM802 can handle 0402.Also you can watch the video of TVM802 in the link.
