Promo code?  No description of what that means?  $5?  For $5 it isn't really worth the effort... since the real cost is in the shipping.

PM me a $20 code and I will try it, I do have a design with a couple of design defects where my Elecrow board could be reworked and then compared.
I REALLY don't have the time to "Pay Attention"

Let's face it... this is really just a SPAM marketing thread by PCBWay. I also noticed that PCBWay added SPAM comments to a recent video I posted, they are big on SPAM.

I'll opt out of the thread now and let others play along.

Yes, lots of spam.

A definate way that both PCBWAY and their freinds at ALLPCB run..   Paying people for reviews is a bit dubious..  Most engineers will actually just tell it how it is.. I'd certainly feel wrong about taking money for expressing my opinion.  Do I have to pay them if i have a bad opinion, or do i get a debit on my account.. ( lol ).. The points system rewards is bizzare. you need to spend about $100,000 to get a microwave oven.    Id say its nothing but a distracton.. but...

Hi Ansonbao,

Ok, I have a suggestion for you.
A lot of my designs are small boards and I put them into panels.
When I make the panel size, I use your pcb quote form to find the most efficient panel size which seems around the 100x100 size.
However, I then get charged more for v slot cuts and electrical testing. Fair is fair, and I understand that it is more work, and we don't get something for nothing, however, it would be nice if there was some sort of a guide that says(or in your quote form you have an option to select how many v slots/panel) that more than X v slots on a panel is $$ extra per cut and if you have more than X boards in a panel, electrical testing will be $$ extra per board.
That way, I can better design my panels and know roughly what my cost will be.

Cheers!

This is a major fustration of mine, as well.    Panelisation is somethign i do on every board, because i'm running it through machinery, and having tooling strips etc makes things much easier to use.   Being charged for having several designs on the panel ( particually when the boards get used together in a 1:1 ratio ) is really handy.   Its not obvious to me what the drives the cost.  It will only take one fab to change this model though, and they will become instantly popular.

Its got to a point where the differentiaaton between pcb fabs is not about the quality of the boards.  there really are not that many shonky providers.. everyone will make a bad board from time to time, and there will be a few horrors..    It really does none of the fabs any favors when the run the other ones down.  Thats our job the customers to figure out whos the real deal and whos flakey.

Where the fab houses can differentiate themselves is in services..

I don't see how you think PCBway will give you a formula, I can't get straight pricing on the most straightforward of stuff.  Pretty much any time I submit a design it then goes up in price by 10-100% for no obvious reason.

This is a slightly related thread which might be worth a read... https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/pcb-panelizing-(elecrow)/ although it looks a bit out of date... seems someone is quite happy with DirtyPCBs w.r.t. panels.

(I would be interested in the outcome and I have something that would useful panelize for assembly if I need to produce a few)

Before payment, our engineers need to confirm pcb file and make sure the final price. Usually it stay the same but sometimes it will change, most of the reason is due to technical reasons, such as minimum drilling 0.2mm.
Now the reason of  price changes will be displayed in the order management page.Sorry for the inconvenience previous.

This can be as simple as "How many boards in panel?"
From this you can work out how many V scores you will use and how many boards need to be tested, however, I fail to see how testing 36 boards on a 100x100 panel is any different to testing 1 circuit that is that is 100x100?

Also could an option be added to limit/skip electrical testing of entire panels and instead select 5 or 6 boards in a panel and test them. This would be good for simple 2 layer boards with large components and traces and should make it cheaper.

Thanks

Well I guess I tend to find the opposite, it usually changes.  It's ok for the price to change if it's clear why, and you're saying there is somewhere I haven't seen that explains the reason for the price change?  Will it still be there for my old orders?  This would be interesting to review.

I've had a look and can't find any comment on any of my previous orders about price change (which I know did change.)

One more related thing, how does pricing work when ordering more than qty 10?

From you front page I can now get qty 10, 100x100 boards for USD$5 (which is ridiculously cheap!) So $0.50ea, if I order qty 100 of the same board the price prior to your engineers looking at it is $127, so $1.27ea.  Over 2.5x the price.

Even if I put in qty 10,000 boards I still get about $0.80 each.

The pricing just doesn't make any sense to me.

In this situation,I suggest you can contact with sale about the most economical way.electrical testing is to help to ensure the quality of pcb.I will communicate with our engineer to discuss whether there is a better way to solve this.

Precisely... It's worth noting that their price for 100 boards is significantly less competitive than others in the market.  Even with a $20 discount you're still around $10 off easyeda...

some PCB factories use conductive adhesives instead of copper. Please be careful
Conductive adhesive shortcomings [4-5,8]: ? low conductivity, the current conductivity of most conductive adhesive resistivity is still maintained at 10-3 ~ 10-4? · cm, and solder joints (l.5 × l0 -5? · cm) is still very different
from the volume resistivity, and the thermal conductivity is poor, which limits the use of conductive adhesive on the power components; ? poor contact resistance stability, in hot and humid environment, conductive adhesive
The contact resistance of the joint increases rapidly with time; (3) the mechanical properties of the bonding are poor; (4) the conductive filler (such as silver, silver, etc.) is easy to migrate. :)
for example :2 layers of board, come back to welding (soldering iron temperature of about 200 degrees Celsius), a little more hot will, the pad of a whole lost,
Batch or cautious, or on the SMT will be a big problem, or deformation of the board cracked,SMT Need reflow soldering

Talking the cheap side for small designs, OSHPark and OSHStencil offer ridiculously cheap services. Their quality are top notch.
i like use oshpark 4pcb pcbway  sunstone 7pcb and so on?Every company can not guarantee 100%
So I am more concerned about how the problem will be handled
