Title: Some China PCB manufacturer recommend
Post by: makervier on October 29, 2013, 08:36:02 am
I am new comer to eevblog for several weeks ago, I want to share some experience with everyone, this is a question I am frequently encountered from time to time in different forums. I decided to make a list over some Chinese PCB manufacturers. As we all known, there are many PCB manufacturers in China, the prices are relatively low and the quality is very well.

here is a list of PCB manufacturers from China:

Thanks for the list,

I am very happy with

http://smart-prototyping.com/Prototyping-Services/Electronic-Prototyping (http://smart-prototyping.com/Prototyping-Services/Electronic-Prototyping)

Ps, don't choose DHL as a shipping option. Took them 6 days to pick it up.

Cheers

I came across http://pcbshopper.com/ (http://pcbshopper.com/)
It gives you a list with prices from different vendors based on your board size, number of layers, etc.

here is a list of PCB manufacturers from China:

Check out PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com). Its list is different from yours (and includes some First World manufacturers) but it lets you enter the size, layers, and quantity of boards you want and shows you prices from several (currently 19) different manufacturers.

I'm the guy behind PCBShopper and I'm currently wrestling with the question of how many more Chinese manufacturers to add. I could spend the rest of my life adding Chinese manufacturers to the price comparison calculator, but so many of them offer nearly identical services at nearly identical prices that adding more doesn't really provide more value to my users. Meanwhile, there's a definite downside to adding more: the more companies I get prices from, the longer it takes to display all the results.

Hi
Glad to join your community .

About the supplier in China .I think the best one is who can provide good quality , best price and fast service . In addition , their attitude to your gerber design is more important . For many R&D member , when they do layout . they may possible made some bug on design , for example ,some people have the solder mask opening missed , some people get the circuit short , some people put the v-score line in silkscreen instead of mechanical layer , but don't indicate it , as a result , the factory will not do v-cut on the PCB . Some supplier will check your gerber design before production , and give customer useful suggestion , some supplier will not .

So when you choose supplier , if you want to have a long term cooperation with , you should take the quality , price , turn around time into consideration . http://pcbshopper.com/ (http://pcbshopper.com/) can list all the price from different China supplier , but it also cost you much time to compare . In China , many different supplier use the same factory for PCB fabrication . I kindly suggest you can choose one fixed supplier , you can negotiate with them about the price and tell them your affordable price . http://www.smiery.com/ (http://www.smiery.com/) is the one which provide full-service company .they help you check your gerber file and suggest a good way to make you low the cost . On the gerber design , they can give you good technical support  .They also provide you China warehouse (http://www.smiery.com/NewsDetails-0-38.html/ (http://www.smiery.com/NewsDetails-0-38.html/)) , it's worthy trying . If you want to expand your business in China , smiery is a good choice , one time try will save lots of your time in future . Hope this one can help you .  ;)

Check out PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com).

I tweaked my latest design (https://upverter.com/salfter/129531d44b9b2c59/ReflowToaster2/) to fit within a 50x100mm constraint (was 2x2.5", so it needed just a little taken off of the sides) and plugged it in.  Maker Studio would've been a little cheaper, but I didn't see anything on their site about how they wanted the gerbers named (seems every manufacturer is slightly different), so I ended up putting an order in with Elecrow.  I had been using OSH Park without any issues, but if I can save a little money, why not?

I'm glad PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com) saved you some money - that's why I created it.

I designed a board just recently and plugged the specs into PCBShopper. I had expected it to help me choose between a bunch of Chinese manufacturers. I was surprised to see that Accutrace (PCB4U) was only $0.50 more than the cheapest option, and it would deliver in 8 days instead of 26. In my book, that's 50 cents well spent.

But it really struck me that, at least for this particular size board, an American company was the best choice. At the risk of blowing my own horn too much, I never would've known without PCBShopper. I would've just assumed that no American company would be price-competitive.

Bob, thats a great tool!!! I just looked at a company in New Zealand and they wanted $384 for 2 PCB v's $108 for 5 PCB + shipping from China (though the postage was via German Postal Service), still thats a massive saving.  How do you decide on which suppliers you include? Do you do any kind of checking or is this a list of commonly used suppliers that people recommend in forums?, Regards, Chris

I've used SeeedStudio's Fusion Service (http://www.seeedstudio.com/service/) a few times and was quite pleased with the turnaround time and overall quality. They offer several different packages including full assembly service. They recommend using the premium service for panelized boards but as long as you don't mind cutting the boards apart yourself, they do allow panelized boards submitted to the "basic" tier.

Hi Chris,

I started with companies that I had heard about myself, either through magazine ads, blogs or forums. Occasionally, a user will suggest a company or a company will contact me and ask to be included. In any case, a company either needs to describe their pricing formula on their web site or have a web form that PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com) can fill out and submit to get the price. If the company's policy is that you need to contact their staff to get a price, that's not going to work for PCBShopper.

I'm up to 21 manufacturers now and I'm not as eager to add more at this point. If I add a new manufacturer, it will be because it offers something significantly different from the ones I already have, e.g. a very different pricing structure or a different country of manufacture. (For example, I'd love to add Eurocircuits, but I can't get the code working and my attempt to contact someone there for help went unanswered.)

Hi Chris,

I invite you (and anyone who has experiences, good or bad, with PCB manufacturers) to write a quick review on PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com). On PCBShopper's main page, there's a list of manufacturers. Just click one of them, and you'll go to the review page for them.

Especially for a mostly-unknown company like Smart Prototyping, it helps when people share their experiences.

Thanks,

Hi Bob,

I will share my full experience soon. Unfortunately I cannot show any detailed pictures as the design is commercial for the company I work for. The lack of reviews did make the whole process a bit sketchy and I was worried they would not deliver but I am so glad I took the risk.

I came across http://pcbshopper.com/ (http://pcbshopper.com/)
It gives you a list with prices from different vendors based on your board size, number of layers, etc.
This etc. is in my last project a few V-cut needed or simply laser cuts in other manufacturer or the same if possible at good price,, but of course this is not possible to optimize for when selecting PCB manufacturer in http://pcbshopper.com/ (http://pcbshopper.com/) since it is additional optimization rule  ???

Simply I need to make small 50mm x 12.5mm PCBs, so adding three V-cut's to 5cm x 5cm PCB can do the trick, but sometimes manufacturing 10cm x 10cm and more could be made cheaper, but than higher number of those V-cut is needed, so if we were able to estimate cost of PCB at given size including V-cut costs than we can get real PCB manufacturing cost and than I can decide if to make any V-cut or forget about them and simply manufactured PCB's take to not far away laser cut machine, which should take very small amount of time to make those cuts and they estimate those costs based on DXF CAD drawing, so I could choose optimum manufacturer for those needed PCB cuts.

Any other options to take advantage of lower prices of bigger PCBs, but keep those V-cut's at very low cost while I'd like provide only PCB as a final product, so it could be nice to make those things quite cheap?
For example, it looks like using http://pcbshopper.com/ (http://pcbshopper.com/)  Smart Prototyping from China of course can do such 1.3 cm × 5 cm   Green   100 items
but this price: $0.56 per each such small PCB
Quote
$45.40 total $0.45 each   Deutsch Post:    $56.40 18 days
is of course NOT 4 times lower than for 5cm x 5cm  $0.71 ::)
Quote
Smart Prototyping China 5 × 5 cm   Green   100   $45.40 total $0.45 each   Total with shipping: Deutsch Post:    $71.40  18 days

When we "cut" 5cm x 5cm  worth $0.71 /4 we get quite nice ~$0.18 per the same small PCB, so ~3 times cheapper than cheap  :-DD

So, there is only a question how V-cut will affect this PCB price, while I can quite easy estimate laser cuts by makeing e-mail to this local company.

As we can see It could be nice to include V-cut costs in PCB cost estimations and optimization, but it still might be beat by simply laser cuts in some cases, I guess so it it never easy  ;)
Maybe you have other tricks than V-cut or laser cuts to make such quite small PCB's 1.25x5cm ?
(1.25cm+/-0.1 or 1.3cm+/-0.1 it does not matter).

Note: In the case of 5cm x 5 cm we of course need only 25 such PCBs to get 100 of required size, so we get $0.30/ PCB and we need bigger PCB to cut while there is less operations to put those things and prepare to laser cut, so we need optimize for PCB sizes as well  :-DMM
Quote
Smart Prototyping China   5 × 5 cm        Green   25     Deutsch Post:   $30.15

Update: It looks like Smart Prototyping Mechanical Prototyping  http://smart-prototyping.com/Prototyping-Services/Mechanical-Prototyping/Laser-Cutting.html (http://smart-prototyping.com/Prototyping-Services/Mechanical-Prototyping/Laser-Cutting.html) has some cutting services so maybe no another manufacturer needed, so never mind about this post.

Quite like Elecrow. Compared from SeedStudio, the silkscreen is much better (Mask instead of printed).
Shipping is also quite fast to UK, always had my PCB in 10 days.

I can recomend Elecrow, good quality and very cheap in comparision with EU manufactors. 2 layer 10*8cm *10pcs costs with shiping about 20Eur. Drill holes were precise, and no problems with vias. I only recomend, went drawing silk screen, do not use thick letters, they don't have good resolution.

I've done five different boards through http://makerstudio.cc/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8 (http://makerstudio.cc/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8) and have been very happy with the results.  About $16 for 10 100mmx100mm boards shipped to the USA in about three weeks, a little cheaper if you do multiple batches on the same order (combined shipping).  They did run my first 1.2mm board batch at 1.6mm, but reran them for free without any hassle with a simple email to support.

I've ordered several boards from Elecrow and I have had problems. Most orders went okay. Had minor problems on a couple of orders. On one order, the problems were resolved on the manufacturing side but not without added cost and a big loss of time (got proper boards within days of deadline, not enough time to assemble).

Like some other PCB houses they don't print fab numbers on the boards anymore, which is great for me as about half of my designs present the PCB in some way.

But overall they are consistent, quality average to above average.

People may like them or not,  but IMO Pcbway offers best bang per buck and so far the most flexibility of all Chinese pcb fans. I switched to them after ordering from Elecrow for a long time (nothing wrong with Elecrow at all,  just that PCBWAY offers better value for money)

I just got some boards from PCBWAY and I am not seeing how they are better than OSHPARK like some will claim.

The soldermask has ripples all over it specifically at vias and trace end points.

TONS of dust under the soldermask, it looks like rubbish. If you are not cleaning the dust off the PCB between process's I am not sure of your quality.

Soldermask missing between QFN pins, I am sure OSH park had soldermask between my QFN pins.

I just got some boards from PCBWAY and I am not seeing how they are better than OSHPARK like some will claim.

The soldermask has ripples all over it specifically at vias and trace end points.

I've done > 100 orders from them, and only had a few orders with issues.   All Shops get it wrong from time to time.    Have you talked to them? They are very responseive for me, and they have always made good on any issues.

TONS of dust under the soldermask, it looks like rubbish. If you are not cleaning the dust off the PCB between process's I am not sure of your quality.

Maybe you got unlucky, andsomethign has gone wrong with your order..

I will send them an email today and see what happens. I will look more closely at the DRC with them, I can claim fault there.

Hopefully we can make things right.

Just an Update. I was told after some back and forth and a bit of pissing, that I would have a coupon applied to my account for the value of the PCB's.

I am currently waiting to see the coupon.

Hi,

I used in the past many pcb manufacturers, but for the last two projects I used PCBCart (excellent quality but expensive for a chinese company, especially compared to others), and PCBWay (electrically the panels were ok - I have also reflow soldered them and they work- but aesthetically the routing was poor in some points, as probably their router had a noticeable backlash).

I would like to try elecrow, but in this forum I read some disturbing posts (see https://www.eevblog.com/forum/eda/elecrow-rant-or-how-ridiculously-they-screwed-up-a-panel-crappy-solder-resist/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/eda/elecrow-rant-or-how-ridiculously-they-screwed-up-a-panel-crappy-solder-resist/)), especially with black and red solder masks.

I'm a bit worried, because this prototype will be very densely populated with small components (0402, SOD923, QFN, etc), with track/space 6/6 mils.

I know that if they screw up, they will remake the pcbs for free. However, DHL is such a pain in the ass, as not only they take 10€ just for handling customs, but also they won't calculate the custom fees based on the invoice and declared value (last time my order was 177€ - including shipping fees -, but DHL used the "statistical value" of 217€ - despite the invoice was attached!-, so I had to pay 10€+47€ instead of 39€ of custom fees. I.e. no matter if the boards costed 217€ or 10€, I will always have to pay something like 57€ in taxes, for each shipment with DHL!).

Anyone tried elecrow (black soldermask)? What was the min track/space you used ? (I read on elecrow "6/6 mils, 8 recommended". Why do they recommend 8?!?! That's disturbing! They are not sure they will manage to achieve 6/6?!?)

Could you post some pictures from elecrow?

Cheers!

Does anybody know which PCB manufacturers put sheets of paper between PCBs when packed for shipping?

I use PCBs as faceplates, they are great for this but typically anywhere from 10-40% arrive with scratches on them from rough handling and getting squashed together with no paper padding the layers. These scratched ones are basically scrap.

A place I used years ago did this as standard but they are gone.

I don't, but you could choose a likely company (use the price comparison calculator at PCBShopper.com (http://PCBShopper.com)), contact them, and ask if they'd do it for you. In addition, include it as a special instruction when you submit your order.

Just had my first PCBs manufactured in China. :D
Ordered from these guys: http://sitopway.com/en/index.php (http://sitopway.com/en/index.php)

10 pcs 10x10 cm, HASL finish, FR4 with 1.6 mm thickness. $30 for making and another $30 for delivery by DHL(optional).
Made everything for 5 days and delivered right under my door for another 3, from the other side of the globe. :o Lol, DHL are just awesome. ;D

The photos are in attachment.
If anybody curious – it's a Tesla coil controller, I like hitting people with electricity. ;)

PCBCart does this at least on the standard production orders. The proto boards are not separated with paper though.

A friend's suggestion. I actually wondered why it's not on the list, thought it was some famous PCB manufacturer. ;D
Any way, the job is done pretty well so I guess it's +1 to the others.

The only part I can complain about is the silkscreen quality and what's interesting – the top silk without fine details turned to be worse looking then the bottom one with fine text.
After speaking with the sales it turned that they have 2 different silkscreen processes – fancy and the regular one. Bottom side's text had 0.15 mm thickness so they used fancy process, the top one was 0.4 mm.
So, if you want good looking overlay – don't forget to add smiley faces on top and bottom sides with calibri font. :D

P.S.
Lol, the yellowish tint is my kitchen's interior being reflected. ;D
It's HASL, but looks like they use pretty strong air flow – most pads are completely flat.

An update on PCBWay.com (http://PCBWay.com), a few more orders in.

I have not had any more issues with their soldermask, and they did refund the order that was not up to standard.

On my last order (received today) just before it shipped.... I noticed I mislabeled a net and my ground pour was not connected to my wire to board ground Pad DOH! I was prepared to just solder bodge it together, but I did not have too, someone from PCBWay noticed and kindly fixed the issue for me.  :-+

So I would like to give them credit for that.

Hi guys, I find  another PCB house, PCBWin.( www.pcbwin.com (http://www.pcbwin.com)), Does anyone know about it?

Yep, I started another thread about it some weeks ago ( https://www.eevblog.com/forum/manufacture/anyone-tried-pcbwin/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/manufacture/anyone-tried-pcbwin/) ) .

I'm actually glad about their quality.

Hint (which is valid regardless the PCB company you're going to use): before you select a courier, check their clearance service fees. For instance, TNT might seem very convenient, but, once the package arrives to the custom, they will add a very large clearance fee (I'm not talking about the VAT. I'm talking about money that TNT will get for free).
They added more than 24€ to a package, whose VAT was about 25€ :(

No, it was due to the soldermask color... re-ordered in a different color and the mask was between pins.

It appears they use a different process for the black soldermask.

I used http://www.pcbway.com/ (http://www.pcbway.com/) and http://www.smart-prototyping.com/ (http://www.smart-prototyping.com/)

I have had a never less than excellent experience with pcb-way. I made with them 300usd in boards over two years, including some absurd boards with tons of weird cuts over holes.

When they had doubts on how to make a board they always asked. smart-prototyping instead did not ask and got the boards wrong (2 times...).

Also the quality is excellent and they accept altium files.
Some time ago they were not clear about manufacture capabilities, but now they've fixed it.
One thing i really liked was the availability of different shipping couriers.

I have used PCBway many times and have always been happy with the results.
A big plus for me is their ability to accept Protel *.PCB files (no messing around with gerbers)
One odd thing about then is if there are several distinct designs on the panel, the prices
rise substantially (why do they do this?). My solution is to hook all the designs together with a track
that does nothing (especially after I guillotine them apart). That seems to be acceptable to Chinese eyes.
There used to be an outfit in Malaysia (Silver Circuits [nee Custom PCB]) and a few in Aussie that would
do a couple of A4 or A3 panels and didn't care what you put on it or how many designs on the board but
these seem to have faded away or gone OTT in price.

Apr 2: Order received
Apr 4: Order in production
Apr 9: Order shipped (from Hong Kong)
May 19: Received in Canada <grrrr Canada Post>

Panels look pretty good, in fact very good.  I specified an unusual solder mask (yellow - no extra charge), and they still shipped in a week.  It's not a complicated board (DIP, 0805, SOT23s), and the only comment I have is that it appears that some of the vias are tented and some aren't (random board to board).

Still waiting on some Ali parts for them, so I would expect in the next week or so I haven't made a board up yet, but for the price I'd use them again.
For smaller stuff I'll still go purple, but for this test the boards are 58x88mm, and I got 12 of them for the price of 10 - Yankee$24.95 incl shipping.  For OSHPark that would have been $40 for 3 boards.

This is a massive danger area,   theres a lot of room for interpretation with pcb files.. THough if its workign for you, then good, but it migh tbe good luck, ( are your boards just two layer simple? )

Becuase you're removign their ability to panelise the boards into their very large panels.. smaller boards = easier to panelise.

I should say he is great at what he does. PCB test passed very quickly and completed the payment latter. I had to chase kevin the last minute too (sorry about that kevin) and he managed to replace my Gerber file with the last minute design change. I wish they had status update like PCBWAY.com does where each phase of the fabrication is updated online.

I recently ordered with ALLPCB as well, specifically the KJPCB fab. I ordered five of two designs in one file for a nixie tube clock (which may or may not have been inspired by Dave's nixie project ::)) standard 1oz copper, 1.6mm FR4 and green soldermask and received 6. I did pay extra for ENIG over HASL as I had been spoiled by OSHPark and I think it really helps with fine pitch parts (and looks good too ;)). It wasn't much extra either unlike most other manufacturers. I paid just under $50 in total, including express delivery by TNT. This was very quick, and overall from ordering to having the boards in my hand was 5 days! OSHPark would have been slightly cheaper, but taken several weeks longer and I was looking to try another company. If I hadn't gone for express delivery or ENIG it probably would've been cheaper. It also looks like the pricing would've scaled better for larger boards and multiple designs. Most of my boards are as compact as possible as I've gotten used to optimising for cheapest price on the PCBs over anything else.

The website is generally pretty good, however a few things I noticed is that I couldn't find a list of naming conventions for Gerber files, only the format. I had to try several attempts to get it to accept my drills file (apparently .txt worked, even though the file with the exact same contents with other extensions was rejected). The order status indicator could also be better, maybe indicating which stage of the process it was at during manufacturing but even just kept up to date would be nice. I contacted customer service after a few days when it still said 'awaiting manufacturing' and they quickly responded to my query that they had been manufactured and were waiting shipment. The login page could also be improved, as it doesn't use SSL/TLS (password being transmitted over plain text) nor is there any option to remember the password, and you must type in a capcha each time.

Overall I am pleased with the quality of the boards. Good quality and service, I'd recommend them and use them again. I haven't assembled them but they look like they're fine electrically. The copper and finish also looks fine and all within spec. Soldermask is also a decent job, though the areas without soldermask are a bit inconsistent (see the rings around vias at the bottom). Nothing that looks like it'll be a major concern though. I did use a mixture of tented and untented vias of differing sizes and selected the 'tented vias' process whilst noting that the design contains some which are tented and some which are not. I did intend to have almost all of them tented except the thermal vias and a few for important signals which I might need to probe or solder mod wires to. However, the boards I received seem to have fairly random tenting applied. The majority of them are ok, but some of the ones I wanted tented are untented and vice versa. Not a huge problem though, I can live with it. The final point is the silkscreen. This is probably the most disappointing part of the process, as it's quite inconsistent, varying in thickness and readability with not enough ink in places and big blobs in some. The bottom of design 'B' also all came with it offset by a couple of millimetres in each direction which whilst isn't a massive issue with my design, doesn't look great and it's actually printed over one of the pads. I couldn't find any manufacturing specifications for the silkscreen but I'm used to OSHPark being nice and crisp so I assumed it would be fine (I actually used a larger font than I usually use). Nevertheless, it does it's job adequately enough and isn't a massive issue.

Whilst writing this review I was inspecting one of the boards and actually noticed something stuck to one of the traces (bottom photo). I'm not entirely sure what it is, it almost looks like a trace pulled from another board, but it appears to be gold plated and it's well adhered to the board. Doesn't look like a short from a visual inspection so it probably passed the e-test (I don't have a multimeter with me at the moment to test), but I probably won't use the board anyway as it's carrying a moderately high voltage. They sent an extra anyway as mentioned, so I can't complain too much.

The positives:

The negatives:

I am sorry we used to have an on-line quotation system, but our customer feedback the price is a bit high by on-line quote,so now we canceled this function, and trying to improve it.
The on-line quotation system is convenience for customer, but the expense is high costs.Because in the origin design of the tool,it was considered every case,so the default will be the peak price to cover all of the cases. It seems very useful, but actually,it did the opposite,so our on-line quotation was temporarily unavailable.
Usually,we quote case by case, considering hole size, hole density, track width, clearance, board thickness, surface finish and many more,to calculate a precise and equitable price for our customer to save their costs. In normal conditions,we can offer the price within Two Hours.
If you have any project for quoting, please feel free to contact me,my email address is  sales9@multech-pcb.com  or   f.leopcb@hotmail.com
By the way,we can do both PCB and PCBA.
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Leo
If you cant' provide accurate and timely quotes online then you're not going to get our business.  I can get the prices of over 25 differnet fabs in less than 2 minutes online.    2 hours is like 2 years in this game.   PCB's are so cheap now that saving a few dollars is not really interesting.. Hi Erin,

You have been carefully listening to our needs in the background and now your website quote form looks really good.
Specifically you have a feature to work out panellised boards, so unless there is something odd I should not really expect the price to jump much once I have submitted the quote.
You should probably add a selection for the panel route process.

I will give your service a try soon.

Hey all,

I can recommend HQPCB.com, which just launched an English website that will ship via DHL internationally. Before HQPCB would only ship to China so you'd need an agent there. HQPCB still comes out a little cheaper if you DO have someone in China. I've been using them for years and been very happy. The prices are obscenely low and I have never had a quality issue. Silkscreen is not great but plenty enough for my purposes. Seems a little better with standard silkscreen & soldermark. Inner hole barrels are not super smooth but I feel as that's often the case. I've had them do microBGA which worked well.

I just placed an order for an 8 layer PCB from them, controlled impedance, 4/4 space/trace, .2mm drill, blue mask, about 6" x 4" size, 9-10 day turn. Total cost: $580. Advanced Circuits quoted me that price for EACH board!
Most of my orders are under $100. They can expedite 4-layer in 48 hours for like $40, 24 hour turn on 2-layer also cheap. They offer a PCBA service but I've never used it, still in beta.

Anyway, if I remember I can take some more pics later but here are a few: http://imgur.com/a/VWFWO (http://imgur.com/a/VWFWO)

Is http://www.3pcb.com/ (http://www.3pcb.com/) the same as https://www.pcbway.com/ (https://www.pcbway.com/) ?
pcbway, 3pcb and pcbgogo are one and the same (JDB PCB).

Ive just been working on some quotes and was about to submit some boards to PCBGOGO after having submitted some to PCBway, and I started to get really suspicious about the fact they seem to have VERY similar websites. I was thinking either they are ripping each others websites off or they are the same company.

Guess I will have to find a second source - I was looking for a couple to try and see what the quality differences were like for a similar batch of PCBs, and who I might prefer to use in the future. I suppose the PCBs will come out of the same factory, so retail front end means nothing.

I found out whats happend with the web sites.. Yes there are multiple web sites that look the same.   Some clever guy at one of the companys, wrote the web site applicaiton for pcb fab..  then he stole it from his boss, and started a new business, and sold it to everyone who wanted it..

The sales person I was speaking to at PCBGOGO was very open (when asked) about the fact that they and PCBWay are related companies and use the same factory.

I'm waiting those 10 bucks then. I ordered from PCBGOGO, the same package as PCBway but with PCBGOGO logo on it, exactly the same label stickers used. On top of that I ordered some free proto boards which they give away. Guess what? Those boards have www.pcbway.com (http://www.pcbway.com) written on them. Also in the past most of the photos on PCBway website had JDBpcb logo on them. Find the diference between those photos and prices:

Does anyone have experience with these companies on PCB assembly jobs?  I'm looking for a full turn-key (PCB, sourcing parts, assembly) company, plus possibly layout services.  I have used iTead before, as well as four U.S. companies (RushPCB, Imagineering, Advanced PCB, Accutrace) and had good results from all.  The PCB quality of the U.S. companies was somewhat better than iTead, but the U.S. prices were always about $1000 more when it was all said and done.

It would also be nice to find a PCB company that is willing to work with me (answering questions mostly, and maybe pointing out certain changes) to make designs that are easier and cheaper to manufacturer.  However, maybe that is too much to expect at a hobby (100 pieces is my typical order) level?

JLCPCB is also great for quick and easy PCB's. 10 Boards for $2! They also include a 24HR turnaround. Personally, I'd recommend them over any other manufacturer in China. Check them out at www.jlcpcb.com (http://www.jlcpcb.com)

Finding prices and reviews for assembly (PCBA) is much harder than PCBs.

New PCB prototype
https://www.pcbonline.com
single size: 35*35mm
Material : Carbon Nanotube
Finish Thickness: 1.6mm
Layers : 2 Layer
Copper Thickness: see Stack Up
Surface Finish : Immersion Gold 2u"

Stack Up:

L1 ----> The copper thickness of the second step:0.6mm(17 OZ)
-----> The copper thickness of the first step:0.4mm (11.5 OZ)

CCL 0.2MM aluminium nitride ceramics

L2 ----------------------------------- copper thickness:0.4mm(11.5 OZ)

The finish thickness: 1.6mm

Be very careful Edwiin. The tolerance for PCB fab spam in this forum is well, very close to zero.

I wonder why there are still people trying to get into the PCB manufacturing business, the market is way saturated and margins are already razor-thin. There are so many lower hanging fruit to tackle, like the super lucrative test equipment market where shit is still way overpriced and margins are easily 5x even at the low end.

PCBGOGO:
15 Zhong Xing Lu
15 Zhong Xing Lu, BuJiZhen, Longgang Qu, Shenzhen Shi, Guangdong Sheng, Cina, 518112

PCBWAY:
HK Weiku information & Technology Co., Ltd
No.2, Industry 3rd Road, Jinsha Village, Kengzi Street, Pingshan New Disctrict Shenzhen China

Hangzhou Weiku information & Technology Co.,Ltd
Room 1105-1108, No.2 Building, Est Mall Business Center, No.698 Changbang Road, Xiacheng District, 310004, Hangzhou, China

Different companies. Only brands of HK Weiku i know of are 3PCB and PCBWAY. They're policy is more oriented towards building their main brand (PCBWAY).
Their website got ripped by employees more than one. China is not the US or Europe. If two companies have the same website, it does not mean it's the same company. Doesn't even mean the same guy made the website. First, they copy the masters, then innovate.

Finding prices and reviews for assembly (PCBA) is much harder than PCBs.

I made 6 production runs (10-200pcs, i make scientific equipment) on PCBWAY. They never got a single thing on the mounting. One time they screwed up packing tough...

That being sad, you must write your requirements very well, and provide accurate design drawings if you have anything other than smd components.
Be also very careful to specify if components cannot be washed or reflowed, because production for small quantity is never as flexible.

Hi everybody,

can you recommend me a pcb manufacturer that can do 6 layers board, without any requirements for impedance and special stack-up, standard width and spacing. All that I checked (also with pcb shopper) start from $200. I need only 2 boards, but not 5 or 10.

Thanks,
Lazar

Check PCBway. Don't expect it to be much under 200USD tought, 6 layer pcb have quite a complicated setup already.

thanks for building this great tool Bob!
I think you have enough suppliers as is, I would just display the number of reviews next to the star rating for each supplier.

cheers,

another Bob.
