VARIAC & EARTHING

Dear all,

I have got a Variac (Auto Transformer) rating at 1000VA. Before I start using of this, I am concerning regarding the ground
As you can see from the pictures attached the Variac has 2 prong (Line and Neutral) for input and output.
There isn't any grounding point not even on the chassis.

Should I earth the chassis during the installation process? There is any malfunction that earthing could cause on the Variac?

I really appreciate any help you can provide
