Where can I buy this type of "flat" pins for my SMD to DIP pcbs?

Hey all!

I am trying to find somewhere to buy this type of pin. The regular pinheaders are not flat, but square, so when used in a IC socket they damages the socket.

However I do find alot of small pcbs with this kind of flat/slim pins that make the adapter pcb fit just like a chip in the socket..

Anyone knows what they are called and where I could buy a larger quantity?
(the measures in the pic could differ a bit ofc)

I typed "single row Header" in Ali and got:

You get a lot of results with the thick square pins, but also quite a lod with round pins, which are quite a bit thinner.
I measured 0.63mm on the square pins I have and 0.48mm on the round pins and these fit nicely in the "high quality" IC sockets with round holes, but are still to thick for the stamped IC sockets.

I use "machined" or "turned pin" pin headers extensively for this sort of thing.

0.018" round pins will work with ordinary DIP sockets without damage. They also fit perfectly in machined pin sockets. I use round pin header strips that are 0.018" on one side and 0.025" on the other for making PCBs that plug into DIP sockets.

I think that Mill-Max makes them if you want top quality. All that I have used are from eBay. Search for "round header -socket -female" and look at the pictures. It is easy to spot the type that you want.

Some pics of a project I did that uses the 0.018/0.025 round headers.  Eight old 2716 EPROMs that I have no practical way to program are replaced by a single 27C128/256/512 EPROM. The small PCB plugs in to an ordinary stamped contact socket for the 74LS138, and the larger PCB plugs in to one of the machined pin sockets for the 2716. The pins work great for both types of DIP socket.

Exactly this, the "machined" or "turned pin" pin headers work perfectly well for stamped sockets without deforming them. Usually one side is thicker than the other, aim to use the skinnier side to mate with your socket and solder the thicker side on your breakout. Either way, these header pins are a lot skinnier than your average square cross section header pins.

They are usually in single in line break off strips of 20, 32 or 40, like normal headers, but with turned/machined pins instead of square cross section.

I usually buy them in bulk when I’m in SE Asia, but I’ve bought them from Farnell at a price when desperate, Harwin D01 series for example.
