The finish on that lead plate looks trashy. Give it a gentle sanding over and a coat of polyurathane.

Is that plate just made of lead? If so with the amount of lead i have i could build two boxs haha.

The plated have a defined thickness. So one could add a thin layer of varnish, but should not remove much oxide.

The plated are made from different materials: lead, aluminum, copper and iron.  The list of contents (first picture) gives a good list.

This set looks like made for schools / education, so nothing extra accurate.
