Title: Choosing a 3d scanner for metrology purpose.
Post by: Shpak on December 06, 2017, 02:41:35 pm
I have to choose a 3d scanner which mostly will be used for metrology purpose. Which means I need to get very accurate data of the geometry of object to be scanned. However, sometimes it will be used to create good renders.
Right now I have two options.

Artec Spider (https://www.artec3d.com/3d-scanner/artec-spider) which as I understand can be used to perform accurate measurements and also provides textures.

FARO Laser Tracker (https://www.faro.com/products/factory-metrology/faro-laser-tracker) ION as it provides much higher precision but no textures (If I got it right). And in addition second scanner, less accurate, but good for textures. Maybe Eva (https://www.artec3d.com/3d-scanner/artec-eva) or maybe something else.

I need an advise here.
