DataChron 2000 Network Time Server - any info?
« on: April 22, 2018, 01:12:33 pm »
Hi Everyone,

Help. I'm in danger of becoming an amateur time-nut as well as an amateur volt-nut  :scared:

Today, I was gifted a Datachron 2000 network time server. So far I've only found a 2 page datasheet on it. It appears that the company is long gone.

Does anyone know much about this? Anyone have a manual? Nothing is coming up for me in the usual places..

It is essentially a GPSDO OXCO with reference outputs (10 of 1MHz, 10 of 10MHz) plus IRIG B. It also performs as a NTP time server over ethernet.

I cleaned it up and fired it up this evening. It managed to acquire GPS lock and time. I was also able to do some basic network connectivity, but I've not run up NTP to it yet.

I've attached some photos of the internals! Enjoy.
Ash.
