Tracking information of EMS.
From the English page, it says "Despatch from Sorting Center of Dalian" on 28th Oct. Dalian is the city where I reside.
However in Chinese page, it says "Despatch from Dalian to JFK". This provides two pieces of additional information: The shipment is by air, and there might be no other intermediate city in China to send to.

Thank you zlymex for that update. The English tracking information for EMS and for USPS do not indicate that the shipment is on its way to JFK. Very good to know that JFK is the next stop!

That part number sounded Chinese, and they are made in Shanghai No. 17 Radio Factory - probably in my city. Do you guys want more? I can try to source those for you directly from the factory, hopefully freshly rolled off their production lines.

That is a kind offer. Do you have a noise meter that can measure noise below 1uV RMS?

Hi Technix,

Thank you for the offer to consider the arrangement.  I probably am interested in getting more parts if it can be easily arranged and perhaps many others here might also have a similar interest.

That part number sounded Chinese, and they are made in Shanghai No. 17 Radio Factory - probably in my city. Do you guys want more? I can try to source those for you directly from the factory, hopefully freshly rolled off their production lines.

I am going to try to get a quote from them this Monday and maybe order a few samples for myself to experiment with (although maybe I should figure out how to use LM399 first?) They will probably have a minimum order quantity (10 if lucky, 500 if not) so we may have to combine orders.

If you think it is necessary I can set up a testing rig so I can pre-select them before sending out to you guys. However my testing rig would be limited to a simple constant-current sink and a UT61D multimeter.

Sorry if I have misses something obvious, but upon fast reading I couldn't figure out:

What is the difference between the various 2DW233, 2DW234, 2DW235 ?

Thanks,
BK

IIRC zlymex said the only difference is the nominal current level at which the zero temperature coefficient point occurs.
So some are designed to use optimally different current levels somewhere in the X mA to few dozen mA range IIRC.

"...Because of this, for a given device at given temp, there is a convex shape of voltage-current curve and there is a peak voltage which is the zero-TC point for zener current.
The type number(2DW232, 2DW233) indicating different nominal zener current for this zero-TC point. For instance, the zero-TC current of 2DW232 is 5mA, the zero-TC current of 2DW233 is 7.5mA, the zero-TC current of 2DW234 is 10mA, and so on.
But in reality,  there is not much difference. A device of any type may show zero-TC current at any value ranging from 4mA to 20mA, therefore, there is need to test every device for it's zero-TC current...."

Thank you Technix.
Good luck with your attempt to contact them and get samples / purchase options that are suitable.
When you ask for a quote of minimum order quantity it might be good to ask what their pricing quotation is for their different standard quantities.  Sometimes you may get a significantly different price for 10 pieces than 100 or 1000.
My own temptation is to buy in the 100-250 pieces range and I think a few others here also indicated such interest for the previous order, so it may not be impossible that people could wish to combine orders to achieve quanties 500+.

zlymex said he bought and received 50 pieces in each bag so maybe that is a standard quantity for the factory unless his reseller packaged / repackaged the devices in some other way.

EDIT: As for the LM399, yes, I saw your thread about having some nice collection of parts to build a meter or voltage reference, good luck with all that.  I hope to do similarly with references / ADCs etc. some time.  I think having a LM399 or other reference is a good addition to experiementing with these since you can then compare the different types against eacy other.  I could see the possibility of using different types voltage references within a single system according to the attributre of each, the voltage, the stability, the power consumption, etc.  And certainly for experimentation I think many here will be comparing these 2DWxxx references against LM399, LTZ1000, and other references to see what the performance differences are over time and humidity and temperature and part to part variation.  But if you only wish or need to experiement with one reference for the time then there's nothing wrong with the LM399, I'd like to get some of those as well soon to compare with others and use each for their optimum possible purposes.

Theoretically the difference is the zero TC current. Practically,  NO difference.

I don't think Assafl made the 43 cutoff either.  Bertik's post listed 43 people, so Assafl would have to go on a "someone didn't reply to their PM" standby list.

When it is time to start collecting shipping fees, which is not yet, I will start with the first people who signed up and go in order of the people who updated this thread. It will be a very simple first-in first-out system.

I will post here when the individual packages are sealed up for shipping. You will each receive a private messages where you can tell me how you want the parts to ship. Via private message, I will tell you what information I need and how to make payment etc etc.

I am going to ask them for their minimum order amount and bulk unit. I will probably have to round the aggregated order up to the next bulk unit size and swallow the differences and that will affect the final price.

The parts have arrived safely in the USA at my home/office/lab. Thank you Zlymex!!!

The rough count of parts is 424. I did not count every part. I weighed the bags and sorted by weight and counted one full bag and counted the smaller low weight bag.

I will start to send private messages with the first people who asked to be on the list in the other thread.

Be ready to reply with your name, address, country, phone number.
From that I will reply with your shipping options and we will go from there.
