I own one Guildline item, a resistance standard that all the oil leaked out of. Still accurate though. They make cool stuff, but make sure you're sitting down if you read their price list.

I've seen a lot of their older gear go for low prices on eBay, including rebadged Solartron multimeters.

I heard they used to have great products but not so much anymore and my experience is consistent with that. I haven't seen issues with their passive DC resistance products (shunts & resistance standards) but their electronic stuff seems to be a mess.

Measurements Intl, who I think sucked the talent from Guildline, has awesome hardware but just about all of it requires the use of their software. And their software, while powerful, looks like it was developed in the 90s and never updated.

Guildline makes (or atleast used to) some phenomenal equipment.  As others have stated, I've got mostly their passive stuff, no electronic equipment.

Here is a recent one we picked up!

All your volts are belong to me

I have one of their 9520 teraohmmeters . It's a beast but can be calibrated with a single 10M standard resistor and beats a lot of meters in the high G/T ohms ranges.

Those 'Brown Laminex' baths just keep chugging away year after year.

I would love to see a teardown of one of those Guildline DCC-bridges.

Coincidentally there are 2 9975's no longer used in the store room at work , could take some pics when I get a chance.
The odd multimeter or 2 or 3 or 4...or........can't remember !.

:-DD Your firm seems to own a lot of old stuff lowimpedance. Is it somehow also the owner of the giant warehouse shown in the end of first Indiana Jones movie?

Maybe they also use those to imprint the current in various superconductivity coil projects, like used in CERN or for tokamak-design fusion plants.

Saw a lot of CERN documents, where they use Flux-gate DCCTs, like LEM Ultrastab at LHC. These beasts capable for ppm-level accuracy with kiloamps as well.
Quick Google search shows some neat setups for their current standard transfers.

Dear Community,

Attached is a rare service manual for the 9540 Guildline Thermometer that includes the complete schematics.
It might be useful if you need to service your instruments. The resistance converter frontend of the design is very interesting as it makes use of an offset cancelling flying capacitor technique. All opamp offsets are elegantly eliminated using this method developed at the CRC.

Best Regards,
Gerhard

Edit: I have been advised of some problem with the file and will fix it tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

It appears the file is too large with 2.9Mb. That is a problem. Perhaps I can split it up.
