"001" - Thank you very much for this.

I would suggest that you ask them the price of 10 pcs. 1kOhm and 10 pcs. 10kOhm. of both types of resistors mentioned in the other thread (or any other low tolerance / low tempco resistor). International shipping or not? Order procedure in detail would be helpful.

Unless they quote "x pieces" or 1 box/pack or similar, I cannot see how anyone can decide whether to order some samples.

The eBay surplus seller showed a picture of a pack / box. Please see photo below.

Looking at the R2-100 datasheet:

http://niiemp.ru/produktsiya-i-uslugi/provolochnye-metallofolgovye-kermetnye-rezistory-i-nr/provolochnye/item/r2-100.html

it seems one have to choose tolerance (min 0.0005%, i.e. 5ppm - range 10kOhm to 20kOhm only) and tempco (min 0.2ppm/degC).

I guess "R2-100 0.25w, 10kOhm, tolerance 0.0005%, tempco 0.2ppm/degC (20-70 degC)" identifies precisely (according to the datasheet) a very expensive expensive resistor. If you would be kind enough to check the price and minimum quantity, I would be grateful. If you have PayPal, send me a PM and I transfer USD 10 to you for your phone expenses before you call them.

On the other hand - if these are priced too high (for my wallet, that is), and they have no stock they can quote for a decent other 10kOhm resistor, I guess it would be too difficult for me to order anything at all.

To sum up - if they cannot just give a list of specifications, quantum and price, I am not interested.

There is an alternative solution - hermetically sealed bulk metal foil S5-61 and R2-67. Made in Ukraine:

Thanks to everybody for the information here.

I also have one S5-61 resistor I got on eBay in 2016 [sellers translation]:

Package Shape: hermetic metal can
Operating Temperature:  -60 - 125 C
Tolerance: 0.01 %
Resistance: 1140 ohm
Technology: metal foil
Working Voltage: 250 V
Temperature Coefficient: 5PPM/C 20-125C; 10PPM/C -60-20C
Rated Power Dissipation: 0.25 W
Produced: 1992
Model:    S5-61    Country/Region of Manufacture:    Russian Federation

I also have a packet coming with 30 pcs. I bought on eBay maybe two weeks ago. There are two sellers (or more) selling them now. I just searched and there are open listings on eBay.

However - these foil resistors are not in any way the same class as the wire wound S5-60. They behave much like the standard Vishay foil types that are plentiful on eBay. So for me, I am only interested in a few high quality wire wound resistors from NIIEMP.

But I guess it will be difficult unless more of them (surplus) end up on eBay. So I should be happy for the one I have.

So
The NIIEMP answer is "R2-100 is obsolete, S5-60 is $41-66"  :palm:

I had a lot of foil/PWW resistors, including Vishay HS BMF types and old russian S5-27, S5-53, S5-54, S5-60, S5-61, R2-67 e.t.c. Moreover, through my hands have passed hundreds of such resistors. IMHO, the S5-61 type 5 have the same long-term performance, as VPG hermetically sealed types. The most stable LTZ-based voltage references, I made, have a statistical 10:7 voltage divider with S5-61 and gives less than 1 ppm/year drift rate.

They sell windows or garden games for children too ... not very reassuring but I guess this is way to go in RU.
Do you have any english speaking email contact there?
Do they produce also custom values?

Mickle T.

I agree that S5-61 are very good and in the same class as Vishay hermetic. If I did not like them, I would not have ordered more of them from eBay.

But since you have held a S5-60 in your hands, you will know that it is a very special feeling recognizing the high quality Handwerkskunst that must have gone into their production.

001

Thank you very much for getting in contact with NIIEMP. Let us wait and see if enough people are interested so that may be a group order of 1k and 10k could be done.
