Anyone know a direct link to ISE Impact?
« on: September 23, 2014, 01:18:34 pm »
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need ISE Impact ASAP but downloads from Xilinx' website are not working. Even if it is working it is 1GB to download  :palm:
How did they F*** this up so bad?
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/57840.html ?

Edit: That won't fix the fact that it's a massive download, but at least the java downloader crap won't get in the way.
Edit2: If that's not the solution, then I have stashed copies here, but I suspect my upload speed means you won't get it for a day or two...
Edit3: I can confirm that it starts to download OK for me - how does it break for you?

Yup, xilinx download section generates vacuum on a specific region on genus Equus africanus asinus. I always end up doing the login dance, clicking the download, and then grabbing the 302 redirect. Then download that url using wget with reget. Because less vacuum.

And yeah, to get just Impact you still have to grab a whopping 1 Gb download. Silly people.

Anyways, if this is still a problem send a PM for a direct link.

In the end I managed to get the file to download from my Linux machine so I'm OK for now.

And you've stashed it somewhere safe, along with a full ISE download and a suitable license.dat file for next time?
It took me a few panic-stricken goes to realise that Xilinx had installed a deadline-sensitive download 'accelerator'...

Still, at least you can still get the good stuff, rather than being forced onto whateverthehellistcallednow.
