Arduino Mega and New Haven Display 122x32 LCD
« on: August 23, 2017, 03:30:57 pm »
Does anybody have experience making a New Haven Display LCD and an Arduino Mega work?

I downloaded the NHD PDF and on pages 3 and 4 I see the pinouts.  On page 6 I see the commands.  There's also a link to the underlying SBN1661G_M18 controller PDF, and beginning on page 17 it shows the various commands and how they work.  On the NHD PDF on page 9 it shows sample startup code.

I was able to create an LED array with one each for the pins indicating ON=1, OFF=0, and a push-button single-step trigger which allowed me to step through the commands I would issue to the controller.  You can see my code here, (sourced from here).

It works, and I appear to be sending the correct information out on the pins.  But, when I re-wire it to the NHD 122x32 display, it doesn't do anything.  In looking at the timing on pages 7 and 8 on NHD PDF, I think that's my problem.  I'm new to Arduino programming, and I have found a few examples online that I've been able to take code from and adapt it, but I think my strobe for the write operation is too long and therefore it's being ignored.

Can anybody help get me pointed in the right direction?

Thank you,
Rick C. Hodgin
