basic11, HC11 basic, looking for sources
« on: January 22, 2017, 08:38:24 pm »
I am designing a new board. I'd like to put a BASIC interpreter into the ROM.
I can't find sources  :-//

Currently I have burned my ROM with Buffalo.

Buffalo is monitor allows program code being developed, to be loaded into RAM and tested.
The results can be checked, the code modified and another test done,
and it also makes the whole process quite simple and relatively quick  :-+

I remember Buffalo Bit User Fast Friendly Aid to Logical Operation, or something like that. I used it a lot on my own HC11 development board, some 20 years ago. Great uC this HC11, and with the monitor was easy to develop. I didn't use it at work though, it may have helped :).
I remember Motorola's ftp site in those days, they had a lot of useful software. I have the vague idea that a BASIC interpreter for the HC11 was available there. The site is long gone, I wonder if the archive.org has a copy of it. I may have a copy, the only problem is where.... :(

The wayback machine at the internet archive does have a partial copy of Motorola's site (1998), that brought me after some fiddling to the name of the file you are looking for: basic11.zip :), it is not in the archive but there exists a basic11.arc, a partial (only the io part is in source form) zip is here:

http://www.filewatcher.com/m/BASIC11.ZIP.23373-0.html

The stored ftp site can be found here:

http://web.archive.org/web/19990209062218/http://www.mcu.motsps.com/freeweb/pub/mcu11/

some links are sadly broken.

Here can you get some sources:

http://www.pudn.com/downloads65/sourcecode/embed/detail234618.html

You have to display the files and copy-paste them...

Thanks to ale500 we have a specific filename that we can google and a search comes up with this page that lists two links http://www.filewatcher.com/m/BASIC11.ZIP.23373-0.html
One of which is on the old Circuit Cellar ftp site: ftp://ftp.circuitcellar.com/pub/Circuit_Cellar/1990/CC_Issue_018/BASIC11.ZIP

If you download that ARC file from the archive of Motorola's site, you can extract the contents with the arc program from GNU Win32 utilities.
