All the info I can find on this chip is that it was a 24bit fixed-point DSP introduced in 1995 by TI Japan. It seems to have had a very short lifetime and TI don't seem to have any information online about. I'm interested in seeing datasheets or programming manuals if anyone has any material.

edit: not my question, but it seems TI support have never heard of the part http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/hercules/f/312/p/375000/1319391

Further quote found online:

"We are sorry to inform you that TMS57070FFT DSP has been obsoleted
since 2000. This part was not released to the public and was only
available to OEM's a public data sheet was not available. Additionally
the part was only released in Japan and due to export restrictions the
part was not available in any other country. Since any support for this
device is non existing and we do not have any information on this device
in our system. I am sorry that we could not be of more help."

Funny.  Ask to order 5 million pieces and I bet they will come up with a data sheet.

They haven't sold the part in over 15 years so I think that's unlikely.

Looking through Yahoo Japan search results brought up this possible pin-out and block diagram https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/download_datasheet.php?id=987734&part-number=TMC57070CFT

Another pin-out here (not sure if these are for the same package) http://www.dtech.lv/techarticles_tms57070.html

Another pin-out here: http://bmamps.com/Schematics/DigiTech/DigiTech_GSP2112_Schematics.pdf
(page 5)

Thanks. I have another Digitech schematic (http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Vibrato%20and%20Pitch%20Shift/Digitech%20XP100.pdf) and they seem to agree, at least for the package they used.

I would like to clone some of these Digitech effects units. Several are sought after and have never been reissued, probably because the DSPs are unobtainable. The firmware is readily available and there doesn't seem to be any particularly impressive hardware in play, but I need a reference for this DSP so I disassemble them.

Electrotanya seams to have schematics for several different GSP/SGS/VGS products.
http://elektrotanya.com/digitech_gsp2101.zip/download.html

You could ask the people at http://www.diystompboxes.com/...if they know anything...

According to web roumours this DSP have been used in products from Digitech but also Bheringer Korg,  Z1 Elektribe,  ER-1/EA-1/EM-1/ER1mkII  and even in Roland DJ-2000 mixer.

Yep, those schematics and list of products were posted earlier. I now have a half-dozen schematics and service manuals for effects processor, DJ mixers, digital mixing consoles so I'm reasonably confident about the pinout. This doesn't get me a datasheet or user's guide though, there's no information as to what is happening inside the chip.

I've also emailed a few people with decades-old newsgroups posted mentioning they had a copy.

I have been through diystompboxes.com but haven't posted a request there, worth a shot I suppose.
