ESP8266 Fanout To CMOS?

How many 3.3V CMOS inputs can an ESP8266 drive? I've had no luck googling for this info. I'm hoping 12 is no problem.

It is not only about the number of inputs it can drive, but total capacitance/inductance you add at the output pin (ie. the length of the tracks/wires)..

ESP8266 doesn't have that many IO pins free.  It's bigger brother might.  Check out the ESP32.

Pins are used for PWR, GND, RST, boot mode x2, tx/rx (debugging and flashing), Chip Enablr.  Those pins across the bottom are mostly in use already.  They talk to the onboard memory.  The ADC pin might be available but not in all uses.
