thanks, indeed it looks nice.

still looking for some cheap programming breakout board for the ESP8266 01

I saw some on OSHPark to help breakout the board for breadboards, but first one needs to flash the board. Surprisingly, there is no "plug and play" solution for this yet.

I made breakout boards like this.

To program them, I connect GPIO0 to GND to enter boot mode.

I found a really neat little board provider on Ebay. These are quite versatile boards and very reasonably priced too.

Here is a complete kit for $5.99:

Lot's of other ESP8266 goodies in his Ebay Store too:

There are a lot of accessories with that, but a NodeMCU has an integrated 1117 and USB UART and fits on a breadboard.

A while ago I've done a very simple breakout board with regulator and decent spacing that fits ESP07-12. Cut it in a half and voila, simple breakout board :). It's designed for easy cut.

PCB available for order directly at the DirtyPCB House:

nice, these simple breakout boards are my motivation to experiment more with PCB design too.

but the ESP8266 breakout boards below looks to be of SMD type for soldering?
I only have basic soldering equipment.

Smallest used parts at above are 1206, especially to be also easy hand soldered if necessary.
