Flashlink JTAG on old PSD chip
« on: May 10, 2016, 07:18:24 am »
A few simple gates on a parallel port connector and away I go to be able to read the code from an old PSD chip in an embedded system.

But, no parallel port on my current PCs (I do have a few 'archived' PCs that could be used if all else fails) so, to read and program these old chips can I use a modern USB JTAG device?

does anyone have experience of using a modern JTAG interface with ancient ST/WSI chips and if so which hardware/software combo did you use?

While I want to be able to read these chips (and I can of course hack together a JTAG adapter with a few gates) and modify the code they contain I would rather buy a more modern JTAG interface that'd be more useful to me for a wider range of chips if that's at all possible.
