help connecting to RIoTboard with J-Link
« on: January 24, 2016, 11:16:09 pm »
I recently purchased a J-Link and a RIoTboard. I've connected the RIoTboard to the J-Link with an Olimex ARM-JTAG-20-10. I'm fairly certain the pins are all correct, but I cant seem to get the jtag connection working. My PC can talk to the jlink and loaded the latest firmware on it. the RIoTboard cpu is a freescale MCIMX6s5 Cortex-A9

edit:
figured it out. pin 9 on the olimex adapter was tied to ground. cut the trace, connect pin 9 (of 10)  to pin 3 (of 20) and its good to go.

Interesting. I was playing with riotboard a while back too. Had some strange effects during boot, that HDMI output freezes the board, and also flashing a Debian image did not really work out. Unfortunately, I have to investigate other things, and could not learn too much what was wrong.
What is your plan for the JTag connection?
