Microsemi Libero SoC 10 installation problem
« on: December 15, 2012, 11:35:28 am »
Looks like the Microsemi FPGA toolchain does not like 64 bit Win7. Installation fails in the beginning because the target directory "is not valid" whatever path i indicate. Even the offered default doesn't work. Quick search from Microsemi failed to enlighten. Has anyone seen this and found a workaround? And yes, i have tried installing in Admin mode and compatibility troubleshooter but no cigar.

Did you ever find a way around this problem? I'm having the same issue.

Have you managed to get around this problem? I'n stuck in exactly the same place (using windows 10). Turning of UAC or switching back to windows 8.1 does not seem to help at all...

Thanks.

Try to use one of those software tracers that monitors every directory access an application does:

Pocket-Sized USB 2.0 LS/FS/HS Protocol Analyzer Model 1480A with OTG decoding.
Pocket-sized PCI Express 1.1 Protocol Analyzer Model 2500A. 2.5 Gbps with x1, x2 and x4 lane widths.

Didn't make the connection at first, but I should walk around the back of the building where I am right now and ask someone - the back half of this customer's building where I am working today is the local offices of Microsemi.
