MiniPro TL866CS and 24(L)C256
« on: September 01, 2017, 11:29:08 am »
I got some 24LC256(yeah, from Aliexpress) and a TL866CS also from Aliexpress.

The EEPROMs are to be used by the Parallax Propeller, yeah they work and can be programmed with PropellerTool, no problems.

I cannot program them with the TL866, neither can I program Atmel's 24C256 (they work with the propeller too), I tried 5 V and the 3.3 V version as per the menu.
I read back 0xff for every location.

Did some have success with such EEPOMs and the Programmer ?

Hardware interface v 03.2.72. MiniPro v6.50. Win10 Pro.

My TL866 works with parallel Flash, no problems and with SPI flash chips too (25Q32). The 24(L)C256 were placed as the picture shows.

Any ideas ?

I have had a look into the waveforms, the read command seems OK, the memory answers with ack and returns 0xff. Bit period 17 us.
The write command seems also OK.
Signal level is 3.3 V.

Somewhere screws up, it cannot be that everything is ok.

Screw all that, now it seems to work. Yesterday didn't work, today does. I'm perplexed... maybe that ZIF socket doesn't make good contact :(
