prolific usb to serial comm port driver windows 10

I am trying to connect my microcontroller development board  with laptop using usb to serial cable. I have Windows 10. I have been searching a lot for  suitable driver but I haven't found any suitable driver

How to find prolific usb to serial comm port driver windows 10

In the Prolific user guide there is a warning. Could that be a problem for you?

There's counterfeits. There's also the fact that they actively don't support older chips.

You may have to disable driver signing in Windows 10.

I use a fake prolific with one of my rig and Win7. I got it with my radio many years back.
The trick here is to use older drivers (1.6.1, 1.7.0, etc), and, disconnect from network when a) installing the driver, b) when inserting prolific into the usb port. The installation sometimes requires a remove/install looping.

The ftc has been totally sucking in protecting consumers. There is no outlet for these things, legitimate or not, that are not sourced from China and the  majority of consumers are using eBay, which for some strange reason seems to be immune from anything except profit.

There is an implementation of an older driver repackage that I have used several times.  In fact, I just used it to successfully interface to a Maynuo RS-232/USB cable for my Windows 10 x64 PC:

I suggest buying a new one, Even if you manage to find a driver that work you will have to reinstall it every time you boot your computer

I've tried with my old HX, almost impossible to install in my Win7 64bit.
It works first time!
The only issue I see is when I plug the dongle into a different usb port it shows an unsuccessful installation. When I plug it back to the port in which I installed it first time, it works.

PS: the driver shows: Prolific 27-Oct-08 3.3.2.105
The CheckChipVersion v 1006 says "This is a PL-2303 XA / HXA chip"

PPS: You have to install it on every usb port you want to use with the 2303 individually..

Throw the Prolific stuff in the bin where it belongs.

that's the way all this kind of stuff works for me. ftdi, prolific, and ms all crap.
