STM32 GPIO to SRAM with DMA question
« on: July 16, 2018, 02:56:54 pm »
Hi all,

I'm looking to use an STM32F7 to receive data from an FPGA and write it to an SD card. The data words are 16bit wide, I'd like to use DMA for the speed. Ideally the data would be clocked into the MCU at about 50MHz which seems doable when I read a lot of resources on this topic but none bring up clocks. Just straight data to from GPIO regs. Does anyone have any info on generating an output clock to clock the data into the MCU? Preferably, the FPGA would generate the clock which would activate the timer inside the MCU to increment the DMA write position. I just find the info so far floats over a lot of the details.

Thanks
Boscoe
