STM32F7 fix for newer Microchip HS-USB PHY
« on: March 14, 2017, 10:35:06 am »
Hello,

as you may know, certain newer/improved Microchip PHYs weren't useable in HS mode with certain STM32 microcontrollers. They were stuck in FS mode due to a missing clock delay after commands.

A presentation from ST titled "USB OTG v2.x" announced an "ULPI interface fix to support new SMSC PHYs" which gave me hope but I never heard back from ST technical support.

Then Martin Devera in STM32F2/F4 problems with various ULPI USB PHYs found XCVRDLY in the new STM32F7 reference manual. Which indeed allows the use in HS-Mode of USB334x with its smaller package, improved ESD protection and embedded LDOs.

Just posting this to give it some exposure.

Have a nice day,
Koen
