Vending machine protocols (MDB, DEX): SW implementation and HW interfaces

I was wondering if there are people here on this forum with broad experience in vending machine protocols (MDB, DEX):

- SW implementation
- HW interfaces
- Devices to test MDB and DEX
- Reference Vending Machine Controller boards with good implementations for MDB and DEX

I once was pulling all-nighter for a week developing MDB converter prototype (Arduino mega plus some jumper wire) to be used in exhibition . The device act as bridge between Vending Machine controller and PC, so the payment process can be controlled by PC.

The MDB protocol itself is open, including the hardware spec and sw protocol. Don't know about DEX.
