Chuck them if you value your time.

They might be useful for soldering practice, or someone's artsy-fartsy project, but I doubt they will be useful as FPGAs. They are likely less capable than many CPLDs on the market now.

They must have known what year you were going to ask this.

Sell them on evilBay? It looks like a few have sold this year for about $15 each.

I have a bunch of xc3142 and xc3042 awaiting a similar decision (for well past a decade, now...)  :-(

Stick them on ebay - there may be people who want to keep old equipment running. Waste of time trying to use them yourself. Even getting devtools running is likely to be a challenge - dos, extended memory, dongles etc.

Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

Maybe just put the whole lot on as one deal with a minimum bid just high enough to cover the fees? Or put them as a fixed price BIN listing for some low price and give it a couple weeks before you chuck them.

Also, I have XCV1600-8FG1156 chips that I've mentioned before.  Worth about $3k each, back when they were current (2003?)
34992 logic cells.  1156 ball BGAs.  Even given tools I couldn't do anything with them :-(
Alas, I feel funny selling stuff (even at giveaway prices) that I've dumpster-dived at work.  Perhaps stuff "times out" eventually and it would be OK...
