Dave 2 3dPrinter Project
« on: November 24, 2017, 02:13:03 am »
I remember seeing on YT on EEVBlog where Dave 2 (or David as he prefers) built a prototype class 3d printer that was open source. He built this as part of his university thesis, but was thinking of selling them as open source machines, maybe as a crowd funded project? I searched through all of the EEVBlog videos to see where he actually demonstrated this printer and could not find it. Does anyone remember if they have seen this, I would like to get the link and see this printer in action.

Hi Dave, I saw this video, however he (David) said that he would show the unit actually working with more information in a later video. This does not show the unit working.

Edit: Clarified that this would be in later video.

Ah, ok, don't think we ever got around to that.

Thanks, maybe it will show up soon. I check your YT channels (both) fairly often, I will watch for it. Did he ever start trying to sell them?

I’d also love to see more about this!
He’s like a trained ape. Without the training.
