Open Hardware Action Camera
« on: March 08, 2016, 08:12:49 am »
Hi all.

Has anybody ever heard of an Open Hardware Action Cam? I know there are several cheap ones (e.g. Xiaomi Yi) but they all use an ambarella SOC.
And for these chips you can´t even find a datasheet nor do they sell them in low quantities, are there any alternatives?

Closest I've seen is something based on the Raspberry Pi (Model A??) & it's camera module. I can't find the link but I'm sure a quick google will find it.

They don't even meet with massive companies unless you guarantee >100kU/year....
