search for a BIG pcb layout
« on: October 14, 2015, 10:02:49 pm »
Hi

I'm searching a PCB layout file, maybe an old computer motherboard. Something in this size and complexity.
Eagle or Target file format would be handy. The complexest designs I can find are just arduino shields. :-// But I'm searching such an old school big pcb.

Does anyone have a link or a file?  :-/O

Thank you!
Cheers
hammy

Most of the stuff I know of is in Altium or Cadence. See:

https://www.turris.cz/en/hardware-documentation

Then there's Novena, CERN has some open stuff, various reference designs from freescale and similar, Autodesk open sourced their 3D printer... but none of that is in Eagle.
Believe it or not, pointy haired people do exist!

I think all Altera development kits have PCB designs available to download in OrCAD format. Pick a bigger one, will get at least 16 layers PCB I suppose. E.g.:
https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-arria-v-soc.html

Download the kit installation files.

Cool! Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.  :-+ :-+
(Eagle 7.4 was not able to open the old 3.55 files. At first I had to use 5.11 to open and save them.)

A nice board! Over 4000 pins. A really good performance test.  ;) :D :D

Thank you!

I think beaglebone and / or Raspberry pi is available in KiCad.
